The encrusting bryozoan Conopeum reticulum

These are colonies of many individual animals called zooids, which join together to form flat sheets that spread out over rocks and other hard surfaces (such as turbines!).   They feed by capturing miniscule food particles from the water with tiny tentacles which are extended.
